    Anyone look at the upcoming Rock Island Auction?

    lot 1607 Colt #113
    lot 1620 Singer
    lot 3641 North American Arms

    Plenty of pretty garbage in that auction. I think 113 is a decent piece, Singer is always "iffy" from that part of Illinois. Seems like NAA 1911s have had a lot of interesting conversations lately.

        The "Singer" listed was a restoration, with substituted parts modified to look correct. That's why it's price estimate is $20K.
        Not sure if I'd pay that for a humped up pistol, even though it was done by a well known restoration guy

          There is another Singer, lot 1620. that is purported to be a "presentation" pistol with no serial number or magazine. High estimate is 50K. I am no expert but have often been told by experts to buy the gun and not the story.

          That said, the early Colt 1911, lot 1607 would be worth traveling to the aucttion and inspecting the gun. Very Nice from the photographs.

              Tommy... That was yesterday's result, but the auction discussed was their last premier auction. That being said, I was also surprised by that result.
