It is Mount Fuji, Japan and he was violating two regulations. First, the A3 was restricted from all aerobatics, except the LABS Loft Maneuver, second the airspace above and around Fuji was a Restricted Area below a certain altitude and I can't remember what it was. It was a sacred area...

During WW II, Fuji was a homing beacon for B-29s P-47Ns and P-51s inbound from the Marianas and Iwo Jima ......

Did you ever fly acrobatics in the A26?

I once had a McDonald Douglas rep show me a picture of an F4 (?) Phantom going thru the St. Louis arch. That bent a few rules too!

              Meanwhile!

Nope, never did. The A-26-B26-JD 1 Invader was a great plane.. The USAF literally flew them until they fell apart. The was a study done to resume production however it was never done. After I left VU-10, they lost one in the Caribbean when he dug a wing and spun in.... Our aircraft had two P&W 2800-27s with a big hydraulic pump on the starboard engine and two tow reels in the after station for towing sleeves... I wound up with about 1,500 hrs. in the Jig Dog....
