    Viet Nam era upgrade

Would anyone be willing to comment on my upgrade? I know the barrel and slide are Viet Nam era upgrades. The barrel Is Smith & Wesson cromlined and the slide is a Colt replacement. Would this have been done in country or at an armory before being sent over? Just curious.

Could have been done anywhere. When I was stationed at a Marine Barracks in Calif. We had all the parts to rebuild M1911A1's as we saw fit. The only part we did not have on hand was frames. All the other parts were considered consumable/throw away.
