    Christmas gift to myself - 1944 colt 1911a1

    Picked this up as a Christmas gift for myself.
    1944 Colt 1911a1 with holster.

                            Thank you all for your kind remarks.
                            The barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" with a "P" proof.
                            It also is marked with an "F" underneath the barrel.
                            I am a member of Scott Gahimer's site M1911info.com.
                            I find it extremely helpful.
                            The barrel has the same markings as his example located on page 19 of his Colt 1911a1 Gallery (Colt M1911a1 Serial number 1652444).
