1911A1 or GM Grip Safety ID Help?

Can anyone help me ID this grip safety. It has a pretty well-done blued finish with a nice polish and the mark could be a "3" or a "5" (however, I'm pretty sure it is a "3").

I found this floating around the parts box and can't recall where I got it.

    Thanks!

    Bumping this up a bit…
Wondering if anyone knows if this is civilian or USGI, or an approximate date of production.

    Thanks, again, for any help!

Here is a comparison of a GI safety and a post war. The GI is milled and the other is a post war casting....

        Bottom GI
