I'm trying to identify a Colt 1911 slide.
It has the following fetures:
Pony centered between the patent information and Colt nomenclature.
Round front sight.
An "H" stamped on the rear of the slide above the firing pin stop.
An "H" stamped under the firing pin stop.
A "G", a "3" and another "G" stamped on the underside of the slide where the disconnector rides.
I thought it was a WWI slide until I read a little further in my little Clawson book and now it seems like it might be a "Transition" slide.
Does this sound like a late WWI slide or a "Transition" slide?
Thanks
