General Jonathan Wainwright's 45

Found this no-charge download at the site offering the G.O. book reported by Charlie Flick some time back. General Wainwright's was a fascinating story of courage and sacrifice and it's a shame the government bureaucracy couldn't reunite him with his revolver before his passing.

I recall that "Guns" magazine, back in the late 60's - early 70's, did an article on "The Wainwright Colt(?)". I thought it was returned according to the article.

I saw that pistol at the west point museum, they also had his sword that was found on a dead japanese officer.
