    WTK: 1911A1 w/British Proofs

What would be the proper barrel and barrel markings for a Colt 1911A1 with the following British proofs on the frame and slide?

    Does anyone have a picture?

    Thanks.

COLT .45 AUTO with an F ahead of the lug, but possibly a D. Chamber marking should be an arm holding a scimitar over NP, followed by .45" .900" over 7 TONSPER [] ", or just 7 TONS.

That is correct. I could not find the thread where I had first asked this question a number of years ago. I had saved that picture, but wasn't sure if I had remembered correctly that it was the barrel I am looking for. I CANNOT find a barrel with these markings ANYWHERE. It seems as if the other (London Proof) barrels turn up with some regularity, but never the Birmingham Proof barrel I need. Any suggestions?

That is the London proof house. The Birmingham proof house would have BNP on the slide, receiver, and barrel.

There were only two proof houses, London and Birmingham, but Birmingham seems to have been much more proficient.

Obviously. I have looked at many, many Brit proofed barrels in the years I have owned this pistol, with no luck. Every time I see "Brit Proofed 1911A1 Barrel FS" I hopefully click on the listing to see if it is the one I need. I have even posted a WTB is several areas (not the right ones I guess) in the hopes that someone has a barrel in their parts box or inventory that they would part with.

I just have to keep looking...and hoping!

                      Thanks for the help.

What barrel is in the pistol now?
