    He's real defensive when you suggest its not the war relic he thinks it is. Unless I missed the story?

      What do you think it is? I kinda wonder how shrapnel made this hole in the slide.

        Anybody check the S/N. Later read of S/N checks to 1943 manufacture. I guess it's possible it is as claimed, but I'm thinking the army would have scraped it.

          Replacing a damaged slide for sure as those are consumable items. We had about 15 spare slides in our armory and just needed to order more anytime we wanted more.
