    1942 Colt

I posted a couple of weeks back trying to determine approximate value of the 1942 Colt 1911A1 I got in trade 20+ years ago. From my findings in the Clawson Book (small one) the gun is original except for the magazine. The six digit serial number 8543xx is the same under the firing pin retainer. I am posting pictures, as best I can use my camera. I will appreciate any info you can give me.mainspring housing.jpghammer spur.jpginside grip panels.jpg

2200-2500 looks like a nice one.

I was cussing my camera, or me, and forgot to take pictures of the barrel, it is correct. The magazine is the only non matching part. I have no idea where the original got to. The guy I got it from 23 years ago said his father brought it home from the Army in 1945 and it was new in the box. They cleaned it, shot it and put it away. Unless he secreted it away without the mags, or the story is not accurate, I don't know, but it leaves much to the imagination. Thank you for the shipping info
