    South African 223

About 10 yrs or more ago I bought some of this stuff and it shot exceptionally well . But I Can't remember for the life of me what it sold for .
Anybody here that could tell me what a fair price for it would be now ?
    Thank you , Kenneth

I wouldn't pay it but I see South African 5.56 in battlepacks for sale for between $250-300 per 300 round battlepack these days.

Yep I saw some of that too . It did seem high , but man that stuff shot good . Seems I payed maybe 60 back then , but I can't remember for sure . My danged crystal ball is fogged up and I can't determine how this Obama agenda is going to go . 300 rds can get gone quick in a serious target session . Thanks M1Garandy , Kenneth

I've got a bunch of this ammo. It does shoot very well and the brass is good quality. Since I reload I'm keeping this back in case it's needed.

Oh yeah , rub it in , lol . Good for you , wish I had bought a lot more of it , down to a piece of a battle pack and that is it . There has been a lot of good ammo come and gone over the years , at the time seemed I was buying enough , but that was the wrong song . Kenneth

15 years ago it was 15 cents per round.

In the 90's some old poop senator or congress slug said "the Second Amendment protects gun but we can put a 10,000 % tax on ammunition". That's when I started buying ammo and reloading. You can never have enough ammo or guns to shoot.

I can't say as I am no expert on ammo , all I can tell you is the S.A. I have is head stamped 223 Rem on one side of the head and DNL on the opposite side . Box has 30 rds and is basically a cube except the bottom of the box is slightly narrower . Kenneth

I do not think your ammo is SA made. If anything I think it may be from Israel.

The cheapest it sold for was 13 cents a pop plus shipping......ie a penny a round UPS back then.
