    Old M2 ball ammo.................

Our church youth group was cleaning out a garage for an old man and we found a bunch of old .30 cal M2 ball ammo. The headstamp is FNT 47 which is one I'm not familiar with and all of my books are packed away since we are getting ready to move. Where was FNT made?

Corrosive for sure. It could be pulled down for components.

I have no problem shooting corrosive in my bolt guns, I just clean the bore and bolt face with soapy water. The clean up process in auto loaders can be onerous to say the least. If you reload breaking the ammo down for the components is fine but if the ammo is berdan primed, and it likely is, all you will be able to save are the projectiles.

Thank you very much for the info. I had already pulled the bullets and the cartridges were berdan primed. Many of the cases had a split along the case neck so I had never planned to shoot them.
