The 1911 date cartridges are hard to find. Probably loaded with Bullseye. When the military bought the Colt New Service revolver in .45 Colt caliber as an interim handgun in 1909 until what was to become the Model 1911 was adopted, they loaded the ammunition with 5 grains of Bullseye powder. The big case would easily accept a double load of the Bullseye, resulting in a catastrophe for the revolver. The military developed a bulky powder that more closely filled the case at about the same velocity.
