    7.62X51

I'm looking at some ammo I've had for a long time. It is in plain cardboard 20 round boxes sealed with a piece of white paper that says 308 WIN. I put a label on the can it's in that says it's Portuguese and for my Ishapore Enfield. The headstamp is H1, and opposite that is 7.62. There is no NATO logo on it. It has green sealant around the primers. The primer pockets are crimped. I've been to the cartridge collectors site and nothing like this is listed. I don't remember where I got it, or why I marked the can as I did. Any ideas what this is?

I'm taking the Ishy to the range tomorrow, so I guess I'll just use some Radway Green since I know it's NATO spec.

If it's FN made for Portugal it's good stuff. But it's Berdan primed if I remember right so not really reloadable.

If it were marked FN, I'd know for sure it's Portuguese, but the H1 headstamp isn't listed anywhere I can find, so I'm not sure. It must have been identified by whoever I bought it from as Portuguese or I wouldn't have it marked as such. I just don't remember where, when, or what about the transaction. I'm pretty sure I have fired it in the Ishapore before with no problems.

I believe H1 is from Singapore. I have 200 rounds in a can somewhere. I will double check.
