    Come and See

    1985 Soviet film about the war in Belorussia in 1943, behind the front lines. Shot entirely in natural lighting, on location. Just watched the restored print. I can see why it's considered a masterpiece of filmmaking. Definitely a different sensibility than what Hollywood brings to the genre.

    Recommended.

          Found it about a year ago. Watched it again last week. Tough film. Hard to watch. Extremely worthwhile. Sincerely. bruce.
