    Star Trek, thoughts

to broaden this section a bit to include TV Shows,

been a fan of TOS (The Original Series) since I watched in in syndication as a kid (63 model year, so a bit small to watch it broadcast as new)
have a DVD set of the Animated Series, (watched that as well on TV and in syndication)

wife and I used to make a point to be at home at 6pm on Sundays to watch Star Trek, The Next Generation, since we did not have a VCR (they were pricey) back when it was first broadcast,

later on, I never did care much for DS9 (Deep Space 9) or Voyager, or even Enterprise,

did like most, not all of the movies, even the 1st one, which is a bit dry, but well done, esp the directors cut

and , this may be blasphemy to some, I actually like the Kelvin timeline Star Trek movies, all are pretty well done , despite the lens flare and alteration to what some call Canon,

Fan of TOS which I actually grew up with. (CBS still has rocks in their heads: Eg Blue Bloods)
TNG I was pretty ambivalent on, and could care less about one way or the other. Likewise DS-9. Voyager was mildly interesting, especially with the medical holograph.
Discovery devolved into an incoherent mess, which is actually sort of too bad. There was a lot of promise there at first with Michelle Yeoh at the helm.

SNW (Strange New Worlds) is a return to the Rodenberry vision, and in most cases, a very worth-while watch.

Liked The Wrath of Khan, and The Search For Spock. Got a kick out of Christopher Lloyd as the Klingon commander. Kirstie Allie was a good choice for Saavik as well.
The first Chris Pine movie was actually pretty good.

I have never seen Discovery, but heard not much good about it,

did see a season or 2 of Picard (need to start from the beginning and watch it again) and it was good,
the character that as 7 of 9's wife or spouse was a bit annoying,

SNW, caught a handful of episodes somewhere, and it was a good show, like picard , I need to watch that one again and try to catch all the episodes,

one thing that go me on TNG was the writing
it started out with some decent episodes but never really got good until Ryker got a beard, not sure why,
and the character development in each series was kinda off,
as in Wesley Crusher save the day in most every episode, then when they got rid of him, Reg Barclay shows up as an adult autistic wesley,,,,

I think if I was on voyager, Neelix would have been pushed out an airlock

Never got to see complete season of the original series until post 1974....1 year in Korea (reported in and watched Armstrong come down the ladder "One small step...) consecutive 2 yrs in Greece.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" the original good one in black and white (not that woke @**# save the planet POS) I missed as a kid with lawn mower money until sometime in 1982.

          Klatu...Bradda...Nikto.

Same with "Forbidden Planet". 1982 was a banner year for SciFi for me. Wasn't that year for Trek 2, and Deep Space Nine?
