Looking for a Springfield Model of 1922 Part

I just picked up an Model of 1922 that escaped upgrade. However, it did not escape someones attempt to do a trigger job.

I am in need of a first variant firing pin rod. This version is 4.70" long. I believe that the 1922 MI rod is 5.05".

If you have one available or know where I can find one, please PM me.

    Thanks,

    Art

Don’t have one for sale but a good machinist can shorten an M1 to make a shorter one for a 1922.

I have that plan in the back of my mind. Will have to decide if we modify a 03 rod or an M1 rod. I have an 03 coming and if I cannot find a 1922 rod, then I'll order an M1 rod.

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith / machinist that understands the 1903 / 1922 bolt design?

            Thanks,

Hi, are you looking for the "firing pin assembly"? If so check here http://www.ssfirearms.com/proddetail.asp?prod=22S30

They also have the same part for the M2 on the next page, regards, Mike

                Mike,

Thank you for that link. That is what I need but in the shorter 1922 variant. Those are the longer M1 variant.

They are mislabeled. I spoke at length with Phil and he was kind enough to pull and measure each one. All 5.05"

Final Resolution - I never found the shorter Model of 1922 firing pin rod, but did find a gentleman in Ohio that shortened a couple M1 rods for me. Works like a charm. Anyone needing one, just drop me a line.

                        Regards,
