    WTB: .22 Trainer

Seeking a .22 military trainer that looks like the SA 1903 rifle. Did not SA make these?

Yes, SA did make them. They were called the Hoffer-Thompson Gallery rifle. They were produced from about 1907 to 1920.

I make a full size 22 cal 03 or 03 A3. Always liked a Hoffer-Thompson, just could never afford one so I started making them out of drill rifle receivers. Look and feel like a Hoffer Thompson except the don't need the chamber adapter, you just load in a 22 LR I sell them for between 600-800 depending on whether I use a M2 barrel, which are hard to find and very expensive or a conversion that I do using another barrel. I'll try to attach a PIC of my 1903 A4 22 cal clone.DSC_1208.jpg The one shown in the pic is not for sale, but could be built, but with the C stock, mount, rings and weaver scope you a looking at a lot more money. If interested send me a PM with your email and we'll discuss.
