    WTB H & R Garand Parts

I recently bought a nice H&R Garand receiver. SN 5787XXX. Feb 1956 according to Scott Duffs Book. I need all the other parts, Trigger Group, Bolt, Op-rod, sights and gas cyl. etc, etc. Any help out there?

This one is for me. I went through Boot camp with an H&R, qualified with it and I guess nostalgia is somewhere in there.

I'd like to put it together as original parts-wise as I can, at least the main ones any way. Not wanting to build a collectable rifle but a shooter. I'll get a after market barrel and stock but it'd be nice if the main parts were H&R.

    Thanks.

At the current time, most HRA parts are readily available. If I were you, I would take my time and find the correct parts to make the rifle correct. The most difficult thing to find is the barrel, which should be a LMR barrel dated 01/56 or 02/56. You might want to check eBay out on a regular basis. Good luck.
