Sorry to inform you but the M1 Op Rod Is NOT to be straight. The Tube MUST have proper bends to function properly and the Tilt test does NOT work, no matter what people say. Debbie mbgarand@rushmore.com

Yes, this I know, but there is a gage that tells whether the bends are correct or out of spec. That is the USGI GAGE I am looking for. Thanks Peter

I am pretty sure that Jim Swartz used to make duplicates of the GI gague. I have seen one in use (Tim Shufflin-Shuff's Parkerizing) uses one and it is a pretty amazing. Without the skill set needed to bend op rods plus the tubing bender the gague is pretty much useless however.
