I have several benchrest rifles that were my grandfathers. I know that in his day a lot of people shot benchrest, but I no longer know any benchrest shooters. Does anyone out there have any suggestions were I would start looking for someone who may have an interest in buying a benchrest rifle? (clubs, web sites, etc)

Depends on who 'smithed it. A '98 Mauser 22-250 by Taylor and Robbins might bring a nicer price than a 40XB-BR. Same with one made by Ed Shilen.
Is Precision Shooting still published? Maybe check with the barrel makers for benchrest gunsmiths and then ask them about websites.
Get Warren Page's "The Accurate Rifle", library should be able to find it. See if any of the 'names' in there match any of his rifles. That'll give you an idea of their marketability.Last edited by barretcreek; 04-04-2016, 01:41. -

Update on the benchrest rifles. I have one with a Wichita action, one with a 40-X action, one with a 40XBR action, and one that has been sleeved so I don't know what type of action it has. All of the barrels are made by Hart. I THINK the stocks are all McMallin. They are chambered in either 6 PPC or 6 X 47. I will upload pictures. Any opinions on what they are worth will be appreciated. That will help me decide if I should bother trying to sell any of them. When I know what they may be worth I could post them here and at my club. Thanks!!"In God We Trust"Comment
