Yes they can - it comes from unequal distribution of markers within families higher up in their ancestral tree having varying numbers of children. The ancestors ARE the same people, of course, but the manner in which their genealogical data was transmitted is subject to some variation. The farther back you go, the more likelihood that there will be small differences.

Aha - now we're down to the nitty-gritty - the older, probably overweight, probably balding guy lusting after someone who wouldn't look twice at him. Is that one of the triplets? If so, by all accounts they are a long way from being "sluts". Does it help your fantasy for her to be one? Do you fantasize a four-way?The German/Scot guy is a blithering idiot, like everyone else appearing in Ancestry's brain-dead ads. (But I do like that hot slut Nicole in the "28" ads.)
Anybody directly descended (not an umpteenth cousin--who with shat for brains could possibly care?) from anyone of note in the Civil or Rev War or any other historical period would almost surely know it! (And even the "family stories" claiming such heritage usually turn out to be the bunk when seriously investigated.)
The kind of genealogy research promoted by Ancestry would like to show that everyone is "mixed-blood," which makes it part of the "one-world," "no-borders," agenda.
I WILL agree with you, 100%, about your comment re Ancestry's desire to picture us as all being related - just more PC crap being rammed down our throats. The thought of possibly being Pebble's cousin, for example, is appalling to say the least.Comment

If you don't know who "Nicole" is, isn't it rather stupid to run off at the mouth? Your fantasy, clearly, is that you know what you're talking about.Aha - now we're down to the nitty-gritty - the older, probably overweight, probably balding guy lusting after someone who wouldn't look twice at him. That's what I was looking for! Thanks.
As far as ancient genealogy goes, my family hails from Germany (Prussia) and Austria (Kärnten). We do know there is a little bit of Greek and Lithuanian in the line from way back. Likely some Hungarian but we don't know. People migrated across Europe for years, so I wouldn't be surprised to find ancient traces of migrant DNA in me from somewhere else.
Polynesian and American Indian? It too would call foul. How far back do we need to go? Neanderthal, or just Cro-Magnon?2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

I am doing my genealogy and have both sides back to early 1730's - used Ancestry for my DNA test - it came back EXACTLY as expected -
49% Eastern Europe (Polish) - dad was 100% Pole
26% Area encompassing Scotland - 22% UK - - - Exact mix of my mom
I have been in contact with several people that "match" my DNA listed as 1st cousins all the way through 5th cousins and have found the link in ever one of us.
I am satisfied that the DNA test was VERY accurate.
Steve
PS - Best find, my ggggg grandfather fought in most of the major battles in the Revolutionary War -- He was with the 17th Light Dragoons - he was a Loyalist born in Rhode Island in 1746 and fought for King & Country.Last edited by dobek; 08-09-2017, 07:21.Comment

I would guess that within the last 100 years is when everything changed. If you live in the U.S. you are statistically bound to be a blend. Hungary or some other parts of Europe, maybe not so much. Even Ireland has the Black Irish. The American Indians came from over the land bridge. So if you end up with a xxxxxx in the woodpile, don't be too surprised. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment
