        There are lots of strange things to see in that part of the world. I flew around the SE part of Alaska in the late 80s and saw the huge U-shaped dry valleys left behind by the extinct glaciers and the new vegetation that was growing along the shoreline downstream of an existing glacier as the land rebounded from the weight of the ice.
