What do you mean "now"? Been that way for quite a while, and I'm also a hostage victim. Ditto for Flickr. Only alternative I know is Imagur...though probably only a matter of time before it follows the example of those two; nobody gets in the internet racket who isn't after coin.Comment

I have several hundred gun pics on PB. I can retrieve them, so far it's been a tedious process one at a time. I need to figure out a batch process. I use post image hosting now.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

i never stored photos there, just put them on board so i could use the image sharing options...
non of my photos are held for ransom, at all. ive got them on my computer, a portable hard-drive and will soon have them on another drive as a double back up...
i hope you can get them back...Comment

amm , I believe it has been discussed here quite often about (free) services . Somebody somewhere has to get paid for setting up the services and maintaining them . So why would anyone think this would be any different . If it is free there is something to be gained by it by some one , whether that will turn out good for the users I figure would subject to who is gaining and what is being gained .Comment
