Five teenagers and one man have been stabbed in London within the space of 90 minutes amid a surge in knife and gun violence in the capital.

It was recently reported that London now has a higher murder rate than New York City. And I thought Britain had strict gun control? How can there be gun violence then?

In other news, a 74 yr old Brit has been arrested for murder. Seems two thugs broke into his home. One, armed with a screwdriver, pushed the old man into his bedroom. The old guy fought back and stabbed the thug, who later died.

they just have to ban and register all knives. by the logic of our anti gun crowd in this country, that should eliminate their problem overnight.

I was there some years ago and the police were advising women to carry perfume spray to protect themselves against rapists. In that liberal paradise, pepper spray is illegal.

Strict gun control has nothing to do with the local murder rate. Hence the "One, armed with a screwdriver...".
And criminals don't care what the law says.

That is correct. An American woman who used a Swiss knife to defend herself was charged and convicted.

Well then, I will never visit the UK. I always kind of wanted to go to Scotland.

Scotland is worse, as far as crime, than England.

One troublesome statistic is that for years, England (and Scotland) have had the highest rate of victimization of any modern nation. You are more likely to be mugged, have your car broken into, or to be burglarized in England than in any other industrial nation.
