A lot of posts are negative. Over time that may dampen people's enthusiasm. B*tching is necessary to let off steam but not a great vocation for life. The 2A forum can see some sparks but for the most part GT is what it is.

As has been said, CSP is what people choose to make it. One guy who is a frequent complainer about other people's posts (8% of his post traffic is a general catch-all complaint), has made 0.0% to any of the shooting forums in at least his last 200 posts. Going back I seldom see him posting in any of the shooting or reloading forums. Just hangs out at the cracker barrel and 2A. His idea is that CSP for like-minded people only, that the forums belong to him. Well everything I read says that this is one of the problems with America today, that people hide in their bubbles and can't or won't expose themselves to differing points of view. It's not a model of America that I knew that one has to pass some sort of ideological litmus test in order to participate. Have times changed that much here that we operate like Red China now? I hope not.

Technical and informative not how to "make" a 15lb AR with a new doodad to hang on it. I appreciate a person with a different opinion, unfortunately Culvers has turned into a bar fight of sorts.

I have American Rifleman magazines going back to the 1920's. It has become a joke compared to what it was. It used to be a really technical magazine for gun guys.

The old "Man at Arms" are all interesting reads, like the same era of Popular Mechanics.

I've thought of leaving. then I've also learned this --> "DON'T LET THEM STEAL your joy!!!"
might be a few sour apples but they are EVERYWHERE and are just a fact of life.
Ignore them and enjoy your life.
don't let the "life suckers" steal your joy whatever it may be!!!!!!!!!!

To keith smart's original question, I can only speak for myself. When I retired a couple years ago, the wife and I took up trap shooting and that's been my main focus since that time. I'm sure that eventually I'll restart my interest in the old rifles and will rejoin the discussion. I still check the site daily, but mostly look at the gun-related posts.
