What's with those Canadian border patrol guys?

This Canadian border patrol guy detained and questioned 2 U.S. women when he heard them speaking spanish! Kicker is that this guy was 50 miles INSIDE the U.S.! Newscast said those jockeys can come 100 miles into the U.S. WTH!? Can our boder patrol guys go way into Canada and stir up trouble? If that guy had done that to me, He would have got an earful of of @%#&*().

I think ANYONE speaking anything other than English in THIS country should expect to be questioned. Italians don't speak German. Germans don't speak Portuguese. Spanish is not our 2nd language. We only have one. Immigrants learn to speak here. Illegals don't always.

"...Canadian border patrol guy..." No such thing here. We have the Canada Border Services Agency, a unionized Government agency,(trainee annual salary of $58,000 to $65,000 plus benefits) most of whom are clerks(a lot of whom are house wives or students.). Armed too. Their Union decided in 2007 that the clerks should be armed. Last I heard, most of 'em failed the firearms training. A CBC report says they've drawn they firearm 299 times since. 18 shot fired, 11 of 'em "accidental discharges". Anybody else would have been charged.
Your guys can't even cross the border without our permission and probably an escort. They'd be leaving their firearms at home too. Although I believe there's an exception if they're in a 'hot pursuit' situation.

If it was our Canadian Border people rather than question them, they would have welcomed them and directed them to the nearest welfare office, just like they have done to the thousands of Haitians who have been illegally crossing the border in the New York State / Province of Quebec area. Unfortunately I am being serious; this has been happening for about 6 months now

It was a US Border officer.

Yep good friend of mine I work with started with BP along Canadian Border, when he had to run paperwork to Canadian side he had to lock his gun up before he crossed the few feet over to the Canadian desk.

Europe is vastly English speaking these days. Not everywhere, but in most places English is the second language. The USA has no official language. Our Founding Fathers saw to that for fear it might have been German at the time. There was a very heavy "Penn-Dutch" influence at work back then.

Yes I realize English isn't official. Perhaps that is one more thing that Trump can get accomplished. I know he is in favor of it.

Much bloodshed and many wars have been fought to get where we are now. No need to give our land, freedoms and speech away to the very ones we lost lives to in the past.

Might be in the same situation we were in a couple of centuries ago. Could be we end up with Spanglish as our official language today.
