And these Europeans do not call themselves German-Americans, French-Americans and so forth. They, for the most part, became true Americans and gave up their past ways of doing things. Some of them were brought here as slaves as well. Probably more whites have been slaves than blacks including Native Indians. The people that the Spanish were in conflicts with were brought here as slaves too. The blacks were just among the latest and the ones that complained the most. Perhaps they were the only ones that were allowed to complain.

Funny you make claim they don't call themselves German Americans or Italian Americans Allen.... because within a short drive from my house I could take you to a place that has a large sign ...

GERMAN AMERICAN CLUB.... and even closer is one with a sign that proudly boasts ITALIAN AMERICAN CLUB ....and in the North East where I used to live there were many that just said FRENCH CLUB even though it had been a couple of generations since the members came south from Quebec ...

As far as Blacks adopting the title of African Americans .... maybe they just rightfully felt that it sounded better than being called niqqer ...and I'll stand with them on that .

A large chunk of the knowledge required for planting and nurturing the plantation crops was from the African slaves. Indigo, rice and other non-native crops were the specialty of slaves,not the overseers.

So tell me, what is the line that you expect descendants of former slaves to toe, and who are you that you believe you have any business drawing a line in the first place?
