    Magazine Help

What would cause a spring to rattle inside a loaded magazine?
I just noticed that when loading a ten round 9mm magazine after the fifth or sixth round was loaded the spring would rattle when you shake the magazine. This is a factory mag for a Browning high power. Everything functions fine, so how can this rattle?
    Thanks for any help.

Have you taken the magazine apart to see if anything is in it?

As the spring is compressed, it expands sideways a bit so it can touch the sides of the magazine. Nothing to worry about.

          When I bought a Browning 10-rounder . . . . .thanks Connecticut . . . .(made in Italy), I could NOT get 10 rounds in it!

          Tough to get in NINE! . . . .

Had to cut 1 1/2 coils off the bottom of the mag spring to get ten in!

Were you able to get ten in without alterations?

it has something to do with the geometry of the mag body. many 9mm Hi Power magazines rattle when loaded.

Highly unlikely to be the spring. Might be the follower though. As it works anyway, think Rule Number One. It works. Don't fix it.
A made in Italy mag isn't a Browning mag. Probably Berretta. If it doesn't work, send it back.

its not the spring or follower, its the rounds you here rattling in there. made in italy mags are browning mags, have no doubt about it. just a fact of life with hi power mags, if its rattles remove a round, itll stop, remove another and it will rattle again.
