          If you see him running in circles that means he is a watchdog and is winding himself up. Perhaps if you could delay that by an hour (take him for a ride or something) his time would be correct.

          I know what you mean though. My daughters dog (grand dog) that stays with us during the day knows when she is due home from work. You could set a clock by him. He will be confused now for a couple of days till he gets used to the sun setting sooner then he will be accurate again.
