The socialists would have you believe that what the ice cream sellers tell you is the truth. But here is actual,visual proof that that is not always the case. Evidence:

Blue Bell is the best plus they don't play politics. Never heard of Turkey Hill--just not sold here. All we need is Blue Bell.

What gets me are hamburgers the way they are pictured vs what you actually get.

was told years ago when I was in the grocery biz that Chocolate was the catch all,

seems, according to the person that worked in a plant, Chocolate is strong enough to cover most flavors, so this plant person told me that it would sometimes have Strawberry etc etc in it as well, (using left over production runs to make a batch)

You should probably not read the labels. You'll find that most of 'em are not "ice cream" at all. They're "Frozen Desserts". Just like that Turkey Hill stuff. Likely they put no butter in that Butter Pecan frozen desert that is not ice cream either. A frozen dessert can be made out of anything, usually water, but at least one Indian manufacturer uses vegetable oil with no milk products of any kind.
One does highly recommend a locally made sorbet. Company is Chapman's(Markdale, Ontario.Just north of here.). They make real ice cream, frozen desserts and a truly fabulous orange sorbet(the Rainbow will do. The orange seems to be scarce.). Isn't exactly cheap at $4.24Cdn in Wally World, but if you need a mental health boost(had a doctor try to tell me ice cream does nothing for your mental health. Laughed at him.), it's great stuff. Don't think it's exported though.
Oh and there are no nuts or grapes in Post Grape Nuts Flakes breakfast "cereal" either.

In the meat section of the grocery store you can find chicken packaged as "chicken parts". Contrary to popular belief this is not for building your own chicken nor repairing your existing chicken.

Birds Eye vegetables contain just that, vegetables. No birds eyes what so ever.

Never eat at a restaurant that claims "Mom's home cooking". If the food is so bad there that their own Mother would not eat there it must be bad plus they really can't verify that she is home and cooking so definitely misleading.

What gets me is ice cream parlors that advertise "Hand scooped."

What other part of your anatomy would you use to scoop ice cream? If I walk into an ice cream parlor and see a guy with a scoop between his butt cheeks, I'm walking right back out again!

Check the label, I'll bet it is less than 1/2 gal. 2 years ago I noticed that the instant oatmeal and grits increased the amount of "fines" (grain hulls) in the packages. They float to the top when you add water. Suspect they did that to round out the weight, but keep the same $. I would rather pay a little more for honest measure. Same with the "bag of air" with potato chips, popcorn, et. al. Another way to pay more for less.

most companies reduced the size a few ounces years ago, and yes, kept the price the same,

Hershey's is now 1.5 Quarts, not 1\2 gal,

re the chips, you buy by weight , not volume, the big bag help keeps the chips from getting broken in transit,

and yes, that weight has changed (actually more size options available now then before)

I drank milk since an infant but I cut that out a year ago and am surprised that I don't even miss it.

Don't know why you gave up milk but if it was because of the fat my wife weaned me off of it years ago by going from whole milk to 2% then skim. Now all we buy is the organic 0% fat (or skim). Only $3.00 for a half gallon here @ WM and the expiration date is longer.
