I'm not taking sides here but we have been in the middle east for many years now and the situation is not improving. There will be no peace till every single one of them is dead and that will never happen unless the world comes to an end.

Kurds might be friendly people, they may be allies. People wanting things usually are easy to get along with though. As mentioned above, they have no country of their own. That makes them invaders wanting what other countries have earned and fought for. Apparently the middle east is not the place for them. Most of Europe will take them with open arms since they have no borders any longer.

In any event, we can't continue to support the whole world.

Allen, the Kurds have been there a lot longer than any of us has been in what is now the US. They got nowhere else to go. They have been useful allies and are to be admired as fighters.

My own thought is we shouldn't have led them to believe they could count on us. OTOH, who else is there?

        true,

they have been around as long as the Turks and others,

they probably should have been given a place to call their own after WW1 when the area was divided up, but for whatever political reason they did not,

The Turks have been there less than a thousand years.

The Democrats will welcome them into the fold. Probably even make them chairman of a committee.
