Recently the wife and I went out to a local restaurant to eat. After we were seated a family with what appeared to be a pre-teen daughter and early teenage son came in. Upon being seated they all pulled out their cellphones and proceeded to entertain themselves with virtually no conversation. The height of their conversation was when the waiter came to take their order, as to what they should get.

At the retirement service for the long term minister of our church in 2011 I saw two teenage girls sitting along the side of the Assembly Room, phones in hand.
