New Zealanders defy predictions and hold onto Military style semis

Only days before the final date set, of an estimated 170,000 military style semiautomatic firearms, only 47,486 have been turned in, according to Fair and Reasonable, an Ad Hoc group of target shooters, collectors, hunters, and farmers. That works out to a 28 percent compliance rate, far below what was expected of what most people think of as a staid, largely British Heritage populace. But New Zealanders have always been many of the British Empire’s most determined and fearless soldiers, famed as independent thinkers who hated discipline, not to mention that many have Maori heritage.

Imagine that. There are lots of Canadians who ignored the whole ugly licencing and re-registering nonsense too.
New Zealanders have gone through this kind of persecution before. They had a registration system before that was dropped due to it being non-effective and excessively costly. They have a general election coming in 2020 too.
    Spelling and grammar count!

Then let them make changes -- there is an old saying, "People, by and large, get the government they deserve."

Mean while the socialist/communist governor in the great state of Virginia has at least 100 cities, towns and counties declaring themselves sanctuary cites and towns where his and his fellow far left wingers gun laws do not apply. The public officials there have been threatened with arrest by Governor using the state police and or the National Guard if need be. But it seems the number of towns and communities joining is just getting bigger.

Good for them -- remember the motto of the State of Virginia, "Sic Semper Tyrannis." "Thus always to Tyrants."

They need to do more than stand up. They need to organize, contribute money and defeat him in court.

I am a Virginian, that lives in one of the counties that voted to be a sanctuary. In truth is isn't much except to say we are not pleased with the proposed actions of the new demorat controlled government. One thing that comes to mind if any of us go to court in my county over one of these new laws it would be difficult to find an anti gun jury to convict. Another thing which I feel is the most important is the fact with the governor boasting if need be he will use the national guard to enforce the new proposed rules, has forgotten that many democrats own guns as well, and in the next elections they may jump the aisle and vote to remove those fools from office.

The big take away in all this is that it happened because of a very low voter turn out, it is important to vote your beliefs every election.

thought some may want to read this

Earlier this week, Senate Bill 1071 was stopped in its tracks. SB 1071, introduced by Sen. Chris Rose (R), would have created the Public Defense and Provisioning Act, allowing the State of West Virginia to transfer machine guns to qualified citizens through a state-run program. Senate Judiciary Chairman Tom Willis (R) fought for gun owners by pushing this bill through … Read more

Thanks Lyman. It is a good read and from what I read, a good foundation to take the "new law" to court. From little I know I would say that this "new law" would be contrary not only to the 2nd Amendment but also the 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th and 14th Amendments.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

But Democrats don't care about the Constitution. We better find a judge who does.
