What really happened at NAS Pensacola

I have seen none of the true facts anywhere in the news. For example the shooting happened only 4 days after the shooter and his 10+ accomplices checked in. In that time they managed to plan the attack, buy a pistol, ammunition, and 4 high capacity magazines. It took several days to capture the 10+ Saudi’s that were in on the plan and more that were aware of the plan and stood aside. When the news broke, everyone in the Pensacola chain of command knew the culprit would be a Saudi.

David Blackmon, a professed Naval Aviator, has written the story and it has not been picked up by the MSN. I’ll post the link when I get home in a couple of days or google “What really happened at NAS Pensacola and why.”

All the news reports say the killer had been on station since I believe 2018.

Something called Quora fact checked it and other than Blackmon being a “screen” name, the rest of the story is pretty much what is going around Naval Air circles. I got a heads up on it from a retired Admiral that once commanded CAG 3 and the USS America. He’s not always right like some people here.

The parts about the killer signing in and opening fire at the sign in desk are correct, so he was reporting in for the day. I've talked to USAF IP friends and the treatment of Saudi Pilots is correct. From the beginning I wanted to know who this killers family is because its true you don't get to fly unless you are connected in the Saudi Air Force.

“Sign in desk...” there are hundreds of foreign students at NAS Pensacola that go to classes and training sites every day. There was one rookie Ensign and a couple of gofers on duty in the office. Normally a student would go directly to his assigned class and there would be a roll call. The fact he was checking in with the duty officer is a clue he was either new, returning from TAD, or a authorized absence. One Ensign and his assistants couldn’t check in hundreds or thousands of students every morning.

The shooter has been described as a “student pilot.” Actually he was a a student “Naval Flight Officer.” NFO’s are not pilots.

Yeah, lets train these muslims to fly fighter aircraft so that they can escort the next plane flying into a building.

                  it's part of the package,

sell them the Aircraft, and the Minister's second cousin by his 8th wife's son gets to go to NAS and learn something,

RED may be better suited to speak of this, but my understanding is they are not the best students, difficult to discipline, and expect everything in a silver platter, since most if note all are of the ruling or high dollar class, not just commoners

Lyman, your understanding is correct with respect to the Saudi package deal. I've had some experience in that realm, and the pilots are typically the sons of money and royalty.

No muslim needs to be owning or flying our aircraft. Let them buy from the Russians or Chinese. I know in some cases they pretend to ally with us against other muslim nations but NONE of them can be trusted.

                      My 2 cents worth.

What we are looking at is an all out tug of war between 83 year old King Salman and 34 year old Prince Salman. Most likely, young will outlast old. Whether this is a good thing or not remains to be seen.

34 yr old may need to watch his back, 84 yr old may cut his throat, (figuratively and literally)

A friend went through pilot training in the 70’s and one day a T-38 with an Iranian student in it became a glider. The US instructor ordered him to eject but he refused. An Iranian colonel was summoned and he yelled “IRANIAN IN THE T-38! EJECT NOW!!” And the sky over San Antonio was filled with Iranians dangling from Parachutes...
