OMB is a straw man to deflect away from the obvious fact that Trump isn't built to lead a country through choppy waters. His instincts for self-survival tell him to look out for #1, just as in his many bankruptcies. He comes out okay while others loose their shirts.
Hopefully we won't need him to do anything essential besides stay out of the way while the rest of us figure it out as best we can. There are some good people in government who can engage on this. Fauci for one.Comment

"...that Trump would get blamed for it...." Nobody is blaming The Donald for anything. He has, however, repeatedly denied or ignored the reality of the Chinese disease. And he has repeatedly BS'd about it.
