Proliferation Of Knockoff Brand Name Scopes

Ebay is littered with tons of "name" brand scopes at <$100 prices. Obvious fakes.

Has this been going on for a long time?

        What is quality on fakes?

What do warranty papers look like

Do you think there is a real, useable warranty?

I am just interested in this. It is said that many auto parts, medications, other products are fakes. Prob lot of info on the i net. Reputable sellers offering up the fakes, knowing or not knowing.

The quality varies, some are copies of the original and might be very good. Others just look like the original.

Of course there isn't any warranty on "brand name" fakes.

Interesting. Easy to distinguish by price point alone. Chinese theft of US intellectual property is rampant.

The Chinese have been making things for trade, at prices lower than foreigners, since the days of the Spanish silver trade. Silks, porcelains, whatever might sell.

a lot of companies contract Chinese makers to produce scopes, knives, etc,

nothing says that if they contract to make 1,000,000 widgets, that they cannot make another mil and label them as something else and sell cheaper,,,(and make a bit cheaper)

Nicest SKS I ever saw was a Norinco, made (I believe) at the old Tientsin Arsenal. Chinese can make good stuff if they want to, knock-offs not included.
