    Remington Arms

Now in bankruptcy under Chapter 11 looks to sell itself to the Navajo Nation. This will void any legal against the company and stop the nonsense against the company. Maybe the TAPCO line will be restarted.

maybe, for the tapco, but there are lots of cheap alternatives out there

would rather see the Para Ord line restarted,

they could always sell the Bushmaster name back to Wyndam ,,,,

They are a Nation within a Nation. If they own Remington then the company cannot be taken to any US court. It would have to be a Tribal court. And if they are looking for income from owning Remington, then that won't happen. All the Liberal courts who think they can say what they want about any law cannot say anything. Even the US Supreme Court has no say unless granted by the Navajo Nation's courts.

Probably due to lack of qualified upper management. A couple of $500K VP's from a potato chip or cookie company should get them back on the right track.

Tragic: not merely the oldest gunmaker in the country, the oldest business of ANY kind operating under the same name. And with Rem goes Marlin, now owned by Rem. With gun sales at record levels, why is this happening?

              it's been a long road,

and lots of bumps, and the folks with their hands on the wheel can't drive

So, if true and if done this will assure Remington's future?

If total confiscation ever comes the Navajo's can always obtain Remington firearms and Remington will be unaffected by U.S. gun laws?

Odd that Navaho jurisdiction would be sought, when there are several federally-recognized "nations" within NYS, each with their own jurisdiction, police, etc.

NYS? Remington pulled out of there a short time ago and moved South. Smart move then but took them too long to make the move. Should have been done a dozen years ago. But they said the company stayed for the people. The town that was home to Remington is pretty much a ghost town now. Only game in town was Remington but the Governor finally forced them out leaving between 1200 and 1500 unemployed. And the big Democrat machine keeps on rolling, running over all kinds of people.

Knew about the new plant in the South, but thought some work was still going on in Ilion. Remember reading that the Dem-controlled union was pleading with the State Dictator to save their jobs, but what's a few thousand blue-collar whites to the MILLIONS of "minorities" he has in his bag. If Rem is gone entirely from Ilion, it really is a ghost town now; think of all the other small businesses that served Rem workers--they couldn't survive either.

Ilion is gone like a lot of old plants, because success made managers and labor alike fat and happy and they couldn't adapt to changing times. That's the creative destruction of capitalism for you. Adapt or die.

Remington has a plant in Huntsville that is supposed to be a be all see all type place,

a model or 2 are also made in Ky I think (rem 783?),

not sure where the ammo plant(s) are,

last I heard, Illion still had a Rem presence, but not like it used to be

There have been a number of failing/failed businesses that have tried to sell themselves to the Navajo Nation. Most of them are worthless or worse yet bring huge liabilities. Navajo Generating Station, Peabody's Kayenta Mine, Remington, there have been a bunch of them. Typically management will want to be retained at their old salary, you know, to continue doing the great job running things.

They typically try to wine and dine the elected offials and sell them on the deal, tell them not to listen to their employees and department heads. I've seen it every tribe I ever worked for. It's like they are all working off the same playbook

Well something was/is going on there. The plant was called non-essential for a few weeks while NY was seeing the worst of the outbreak.
