Paint jobs are one thing, including orange painted muzzles to diguise them as Airsoft. (Defeats the whole purpose of that legislation and is exactly why so many other governments nixed the proposals)
Being refitted into a Nerf product ,so convincingly, is several steps beyond that. Pity the cop who either falls for the bluff, or mistakenly doesn't during those crucial micro seconds. He's either dead or guilty unless luck is on his side.
