Man has VERY close call after a sharp metal disc breaks off his power tool and flies at his face, cutting through his protective shield - and stopping less than an INCH away from his eye

Matthew Peters was using a grinder ? a tool that sharpens blades and tools ? when half of the metal disc broke off

Still spinning, it flew at his face and cut through the plastic of his face shield

Though the shield is now damaged beyond repair, it did stop the disc just in time, with the sharp tip stopping just before his eye

Probably using that cut wheel as a grinding wheel, you can't fix stupid.

Looks like that's exactly what he was doing.

Have to learn how to keep your face off the plane of rotation too. Those cutting disks will let go just for looking at them wrong.
