    Balls

From a HS classmate, discussing Reformation Sunday.

. How far we have come from 75 years ago when a 19 year old Kansan singlehandedly dealt the Wehrmacht its first setback in the Battle of the Bulge. Pretending to be a German MP, he stepped into the darkness on the road and halted the point element?an SS Panzer battalion?and told its commander that there was a firefight ahead, and they would have to wait until it was concluded. That cost the Wehrmacht a precious eight hours, which eventually led to their defeat. And this was a kid who didn?t even have a German uniform?he had only his perfect German and the darkness of the night to protect him.

Gonna search for the rest of that story.

To quote an old, somewhat sad but very moving movie, "Where to we get such men?"
