Help with over whelming spam

Everyday I get between 100-150 spam emails! I know not to click on them, Presently I delete all of them everyday (I use Mozilla, so have to delete each one)! I don't know why I get so many.
Question....instead of deleting them should I just let them pile up? Does that slow down my computer? When I used AOL, they had a 'one click' option to delete total spam.

Any time you give out your email address it can be sold to companies, political organizations and individuals to send you spam and other unwanted offers. There should be laws preventing this but isn't.

The same happened to me. Instead of deleting them I hit the spam button. This worked fine for a while but I use Yahoo mail and they want to be paid for email accounts now so by not doing so they punish me by only holding addresses put into spam for a short period before releasing them to start all over again.

What I use now is a filter supplied on my Yahoo mail that can prevent any email coming in with the words, letters, numbers or phases I select. It is difficult to navigate the first time but worth it. I look in my trash file every so often to see all the crap it has stopped for the day that would have otherwise showed up in my inbox.

I have permanently (?) stopped daily and hourly spam from Fidelity Life Ins, Globe Life and all the Viagra type spam.

I am getting twenty a wk now. Never had a bit of trouble with Firefox, but somehow Microsoft Edge found its way onto my computer. It might have something to do with the "instant password" thing I got(which I like). Time to clean house.

Try sending them to Junk instead of Trash. On my Mac once they are sent to Junk all emails from that sender automatically go to Junk instead of piling up in in box.

Gmail lets you mark spam and then it doesn't get through. Google sells your data but you get advertising etc. on the browser instead of in your email inbox. A good way to get spam email is to make a political campaign or charitable donation. Once they have your email they sell you to all their friends.

Weel, I went to my Gmail account to block spam. But, it I understood the instructions, I have to open the spam emails to get their email address. I won't do that!

I have a gmail account that I seldom use. I searched for blocking spam on gmail and found this. It is very similar to what I use on my yahoo account. I don't type in the address because they can have hundreds of addresses they send from. I type in the word or words I want blocked but be aware they submit in different ways too.

Using Globe Life Ins as an example. The spam may come in as shown or GlobeLife, GlobeLifeIns, Globe-Life, Globe_Life, and other ways so eliminating just the word Globe won't stop it entirely. It will take a while typing in words (or phrases) you don't want on a daily basis as they come in to your inbox, but after a short while you will notice the reduction. Each block will involve a new filter.

Log into your Gmail account
Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of your screen
In the panel that opens up, click the ?See all settings? button
Click the ?Filters and Blocked Addresses? in the top menu of words under ?Settings
Then click ?Create a new filter?"

From here I just type in the word or words I want blocked. You will need to select where you want them sent to and no you can't select who's arse you want them crammed into because it isn't an option. I selected "delete" which is the same as "trash" on my yahoo mail. Best I recall, this is all I did, just the 2 or 3 steps, no address input.

Play with it but don't block words that may stop a wanted email from coming in.

In my case blocking words like Globe, Globe Life Ins, Fidelity Life, viagra, hard-on, erection and so forth was a safe choice, didn't stop any wanted mail from coming in, and stopped nearly all of my spam.
