Personally, if given a choice, I'd prefer the temperature to go up rather than down.

Not much choice this time of year. It is going down and will continue to go down till about March then start heating up again.

we are just blips or hiccups in the history of the world,

to think we can influence Mother Nature that much is just arrogance

If the government can change the hours of daylight, why not
change the length of seasons and make winter shorter and summer longer ?

Yup, dress for the weather even if the weather isn't awful just this minute. Or stay hydrated when it gets hot. Stay hydrated all the time. We're talking water now.

Things have been warming for the last 23,000 years when the glacier started retreating off Indiana. Whatever the U.S. does is countered by India and China.

The winters are not what they were 30 or 40 years ago.

That was 22,960 or 22970 years since the glaciers started receding.

                        um,, they have been here,

we vary between warmish to damn near frigid,

                        this year has been warm
last year some snow, nothing big

                        year before, much much snow,

and that cycle goes back as long as I can remember,

February 2021 was the coldest it had been around here in over a century. Nothing warm about that.

Fairbanks, AK was 35 below last wk. They show the record as -52 but I remember -60 when I was a kid. Maybe it is getting warmer.
