Went shooting the other day w/ my 03-A4 replica. First round at 200 yds. was perfectly centered. Happy! Sadly, the scope went blank! Appears the reticule or a lens or both have gone wonky. Scope was a nice Weaver 2.5 w/ plain reticule. So ... any recommendations on where/how to repair/replace it? Sincerely. bruce.

Gonna cost more to repair than replace. Check around at gun shops, ask if they have any old scopes in back.Enfield, everything else is just a rifle. Unless it's a Garand.

depends, some of those old Weavers hold a good value
I've sent a handful of Weavers to Ironsight (and an ART II),
they do damn good work

Well, well, well! Found myself a very nice Weaver V-3 1-3x scope that fits well on my rifle. Grand total of less than $53 delivered. This will work very well for me to do some shooting, etc. out at the range. It will also serve extremely well for later this year when I am out in the woods and fields hunting deer. In addition to Weaver scopes, there were a few no name scopes out there too. The one I bought looked just like a Weaver, with no markings. Again; got it for about fifty bucks. I sold the rifle (336 Marlin) with the new scope before I even got to try it out. That was a moment lost.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

The 336 is a great rifle!!! That is true of all the Marlin lever actions. I have a "waffle top" from 1950 that was given to me by a church member who physically was no longer able to go hunting. It shows its 70 years of use! Still shoots like a house a fire. What year was your Marlin? Hope you did well on it. Sincerely. bruce." I had a Winchester once that was awful. I got the Marlin (about 1970 something) at the Gun Show. It was all gummed up with WD 40. I got it for $150 and it turned out to be a real sweety. A guy stopped by to buy some of my reloading gear and he made me a good offer for the rifle. I had just put the scope on a week before. I kind of miss it.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment
