Egg Prices

I don't understand all the hype. Yes the price has gone up but only 1 or 2 dollars and I buy the slightly more expensive organic eggs. Still just over $5 a doz at WalMart. However the shelves are empty a lot of times. This is a bigger problem than price.

Part of the problem is the current inflation, the bigger problem is an epidemic that has killed millions of laying hens. That applies to both the high cost and the shortage.

Around here they hit $6. That's .50 per egg. I haven't eaten fast food in years but I'll bet you could spend $10 at McDonalds for breakfast before the price went up.

A local Shoprite had signs in their egg section apologizing for the shortages, citing Avian Flu.
