      My Grand Mother's refrigerator, circa 1955, is still going strong! The freezer section is the only drawback as it is only 12x12x12.

        I remember those tiny freezers all too well. It was always a treat to get ice cream when young because the 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon containers took up the whole freezer so it wasn't bought very often. Room had to be reserved for ice trays too so that reduced available space in the freezer as well.

          I remember that little piece of sheet metal that was the freezer. The ice could get 3" thick.
          If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

            Yep, when it got to the point that the little freezer door was hard to open and close it was time to manually defrost.
