Warm Weather on the Way Soon

Already mowing grass (winter weeds) and killing carpenter bee's with a tennis racket.

I have 2 zero turns. Surprisingly both started right up and mowed well after sitting up since Sept or Oct. This week we have high's in the 60's-70's and lows into the 30's-40's. It's a wonder we don't have daily tornado's just from the temp changes.

Starting to use herbicide too as you can't start too early.

Personally I have a lot of things to work on outside, enough to keep me busy for several lifetimes. Sometimes I wonder how I ever had time to work (retired) but then I realize because of work that's why and when everything else got neglected to the point I'm at now.

-0's reminded me of when my brother was in the AF and stationed in Anchorage Alaska. He said most everyone there had dogs---big dogs. After crapping all through the cold months, usually in the snow, come the first warm thaw the ground would be covered in several inches of preserved dog crap.

Back then (70's) parking meters were still in use. Come the first of the cold weather many people would put a coin in the meter. When the flag registered they would shoot the coin slot with a water pistol and freeze up the meter. This was apparently common practice and people got to park free the rest of the year.

At Camp Casey Korea, during the Carter Administration, there wasn't enough oil to keep the place heated. As a result, pipes burst -- including sewer lines. Now what do you do? Just keep on a crappin' and when the thaw came, WHEW!!
