Battle Hymn of the Republic - Judy Garland

I have posted this before but today seems a good time for a re do.

Some countries have a national hymn. England has "Jerusalem" and we have the "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

This was recorded not long before Garland's death. Even at the end, her body ravaged by drugs and alcohol and her tendency to flub lines getting worse her talent was so prodigious it really didn't seem to matter. So here it is, based on Isaiah 63:1-6.

A quick P.S. We made our monthly Sam's Club safari today and we walked in behind a lady with two little girls in tow. The girls were wearing identical blue T-shirts with flags and fireworks on the back and "I can't hear you over the sound of freedom ringing" written over the images. Too cute for words.

    Wow! . . . .

Talk about “putting your whole body” in to a performance . . . .

It was a crime what the studio bosses did to her,
and those randy dwarfs used to put their hands up her skirt.

Elvis did a good version of Dixie/Battle Hymm of the Republic too. The TV stations here played it at "sign off" for many years.
