Really dumb since the whole point of a ceiling fan is to reduce electricity use, and therefore cost. Making them more expensive and in the process forcing some U.S. manufacturers out of business raises the stupidity index of the Granholm EPA to a new level.

You can just add this to the list of other things on the Enviro-Wacko chopping block, your gasoline powered automobile, including hybrids in the most nutty cases, your gas kitchen appliances, your portable or backup generator (they're really serious about getting them) and on it goes.

Of course none of this applies to the elites themselves.....Sleepy Joe will still be driving that 'vette. Al Gore will still be living in a house that has the carbon footprint of the Vegas Strip, and John Kerry and all of the other Enviro Czars will still be taking private jets to all those conferences.
