Return of an Icon, the Chevrolet Chevelle

Apparently in the works and referred to as the 2024 Chevelle.

The best part is it will be available with 3 engine choices from 450hp to 1500hp, all gasoline engines.

As you can tell by the pictures it is mostly a rebadged Camaro which will be discontinued again. The Camaro has run it's course and sales are dropping since GM reintroduced it to resemble the 1969 model and thus can't be changed a whole lot to stay looking new. It's been out since 2009.

The new Chevelle obviously resembles the old 1970 SS model. Mostly the grill and paint.

Many of us long for the muscle cars of the '70s. The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS brings muscle car styling and power into the 21st century.

Now, what is a little unclear, is this just going to be a limited production by Trans Am Worldwide or is GM going to get involved?

Trans Am Worldwide I believe is the company that took Camaro's and refitted them to look like the discontinued Pontiac Trans Ams.

Upon reading other articles, Chevrolet plans to reintroduce the Camaro again years down the road but as you guessed it, an electric only version.

It will no doubt be full of computers.
Everything on today's Jaguars is controlled by a computer
if one goes bad you can kiss $1000 goodbye.

All the cars now are full of computers. My vehicle is the same. Bought it in 2018 with the intention of trading in three years, but five years later it has not has a single problem. Keep getting emails from the dealer wanting me to bring it in for an inspection, but leaving well enough alone. Let the dealer change oil while in warranty, but change oil and filters myself. Hardest filter to change was the cabin filter which is up and behind the glove box.

Chevelle was bigger than a Camaro, which the new one is based on, or basically reskinned,
        so not true to form,

        not a fan

now if they were buying up the older Aussie made Pontiacs and the few Chevy versions built here or imported, and reskinning them, then that would be more appropiate,

        JMHO of course

Not as bad as what was done with the Dodge Charger though. As you know, Chargers are now tiny and 4 door.

My first new car was a 1964 Chevelle SS. I ordered ii in January 1964 based on an article in Hot Rod Magazine featuring the 365HP engine. The factory kept asking the dealer to change my mind about the 365HP engine. I kept saying "NO". Finally took delivery in June 1964. Exterior co;or was Azure Aqua , black interior, Muncie 4 speed on the floor, no P.S. no P.B. no AC, 370 rear end gear ratio. Had to replace rear tires quite frequently, used cheater slicks at the drag strip. It would do the 1/8 mile drag strip in 8 seconds @ 80+ mph. After I traded it in on a 1969 Dodge Charger, I learned there were only 208 factory Chevelles made with that 365HP!
This new rendition of the Chevelle does not trip my trigger!

It looks like they put it in the Challenger body so it would have 2 doors again.

What's next, a drivers simulator instead of a dash to where it looks like you're really driving but aren't?

But that is a pre 74 Vega,,,,,

and I bet that spray from the tires is photoshopped,

however, if you have better pics of the chick in the boots, post them up

Not of cars, HOWEVER this guy was fishing and caught this modern Mermaid. His question was does she meet the legal size or does he have to throw her back.
